About Aarhus Festuge’s Anniversary Concert
In 2025, Aarhus Festuge celebrated its 60th anniversary with a magnificent concert at Pier 3 in Aarhus Ø. Under the title “Aarhus Connections – The Sound of Festuge through 60 Years”, the stage was filled with some of Denmark’s biggest names, including Thomas Helmig, Tina Dickow, Birthe Kjær and Steffen Brandt. Together with many other artists, they created a musical journey through six decades of Festuge history, while 18,000 guests celebrated the city’s cultural life on the waterfront. The concert brought together generations of musicians and audiences for a festive evening where both the past, present and future were celebrated.
A magnificent stage for the Danish legends
ProShop Europe was responsible for the overall technical solution with sound, light, LED scenography and big screen production for the anniversary concert. A 77 m² LED screen combined with scenographic LED elements, including the Festival Week’s characteristic logo created in LED, gave a strong and recognizable visual expression. A flexible lighting design with 86 moving heads and master lights added dynamics and atmosphere throughout the evening. With a 7-camera setup including steadycam, the energy of the concert was captured and reproduced on the big screen, so that all 18,000 guests could experience the music up close. The solution combined sound, light and image into a whole and ensured an experience at an absolutely professional level.
The technical setup
The setup at Aarhus Harbour was a major production in itself. It took 3 days to build and test the entire setup, with 18 technicians from ProShop Europe responsible for the technical execution during the concert. The collaboration between sound, lighting, screens and camera production ensured a flawless experience, where the audience got close to the artists and a visual show in a class of its own.
